Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the website located at fibertomorrow.com (the “Site”), operated by Julie Downs under the name Fiber Tomorrow (“Fiber Tomorrow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The Site is a personal blog intended for a general audience.

We aim to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible. The current Site does not include account registration, online purchases, a comment system, or a web contact form.

Information we collect

Information you choose to provide

When you contact us by email, telephone, or postal mail, we may receive information such as your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, the contents of your message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.

The email and telephone links on the Site open the email or phone application on your device. Your message is not submitted through a form hosted on the Site.

Technical information

Like most websites, the company that hosts or secures the Site may automatically process limited technical information in server logs. This may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, device type, operating system, requested pages or files, referring page, and the date and time of a request. We may receive or review this information when reasonably necessary to operate, troubleshoot, or protect the Site.

Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not intentionally request government identification numbers, financial account information, precise geolocation, health information, biometric information, or other sensitive personal information through the Site. Please do not send sensitive information by email unless it is necessary and you understand the risks of ordinary email communication.

How we use information

We may use personal information to:

• respond to messages, questions, or requests;
• maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the Site;
• prevent fraud, abuse, or harmful activity;
• comply with legal obligations and protect legal rights; and
• keep appropriate records of correspondence.

We do not use personal information collected through the Site for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use personal information for targeted advertising.

• Service providers. To vendors that provide hosting, email, communications, cybersecurity, data storage, or related operational services, subject to appropriate limits on their use of the information.
• Legal and safety reasons. When we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of visitors, Fiber Tomorrow, or others.
• Business changes. In connection with a reorganization, transfer, or sale of all or part of the Site or its assets, subject to applicable law.
• With your direction. When you ask us to disclose information or give your consent.

The Site may link to websites operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Cookies and tracking technologies

A hosting, content-delivery, or security provider may use strictly necessary technologies or technical logs to deliver and protect the Site. Those providers process information according to their own terms and privacy notices.

Because the Site does not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising and does not engage in cross-site tracking, it does not currently provide a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat the signal as a request to opt out; however, there is no sale, sharing, or targeted advertising to opt out of in the current Site configuration.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no commonly accepted standard for responding to this setting, the Site does not respond differently to Do Not Track signals.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; receive a portable copy; restrict or object to certain processing; or appeal a decision concerning a request.

Please describe the request and provide enough information for us to reasonably verify that the request relates to you. We may request additional information solely for verification. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and direct verification with the individual.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Some privacy laws apply only to organizations that meet specific thresholds. Whether or not a particular law applies, we will consider reasonable requests concerning information we control.

U.S. state privacy disclosures

The table below summarizes categories of personal information that may have been collected in the preceding 12 months, depending on whether visitors contacted us and on technical processing by the Site’s hosting or security provider.

We do not knowingly collect or use sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about a person. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information. We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the preceding 12 months.

Where applicable, residents may request to know the categories or specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources and purposes, the categories of third parties to whom information was disclosed, correction, deletion, portability, or an appeal. Since we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to delete it.

Security, retention, and international visitors

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We retain correspondence and related personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to respond to requests, keep appropriate records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal requirements. Technical log retention is generally determined by the hosting or security provider and operational need.

International visitors

Fiber Tomorrow is based in the United States. If you visit from another country or contact us, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Site, our practices, or applicable requirements change. The revised Policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Site when appropriate.
